About Allie
I’m Allie Kidd- therapist, crafter and mom living and working in Ohio. Through EMDR Therapy, I help moms regain their power and find their voice. I focus on exploring how past experiences and pain show up in the present as avoidance, anger, self doubt and anxiety.
I’ve been there. I’ve been the mom who puts everyone else first and myself last. Through EMDR, I’ve been able to examine my attachments and messages received throughout my life that contributed to my people pleasing, perfection seeking version of me. Therapy has helped me be the person and mom I always wanted to be but was afraid would never be a reality. It is my honor to walk with moms on their journey to finding out that they can be themselves and be a mom at the same time.
Moms who see me are initially seeking help due to experiencing: anxiety, stress, difficulty sleeping, feeling like they aren’t important, loneliness and trouble saying “no” or holding boundaries with loved ones.
I work best with folks who feel ready to dive into exploring how their own experiences are contributing to their present distress and discomfort. They are looking forward to digging in to find the root of the issues they’re experiencing now-they are ready for change.

More Stuff About Allie
I’m a Millennial Mom and a Californian who moved to New York and landed in Ohio. While I practice clinically in both New York and Ohio, Ohio is home. It’s where I spend my free time listening to audiobooks, rewatching One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek, playing board games and creating general crafty-things.
I also collect pins that I wear daily, frequent my local thrift shops and love going to Disneyworld as an adult (even though I grew up going to Disneyland as a kid).

How I Work With You
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy uses bilateral stimulation to promote healing from painful memories by de-charging the memory and associated channels. Read more about EMDR Therapy here.
Through EMDR Therapy, I help clients link their past pain to their present struggles to relieve strain in the future. For years I have wanted a gentler, more direct way of addressing clients’ trauma, a way of connecting the dots and relieving pain; I have seen positive results with clients using EMDR allowing them to live more presently and authentically which continues to bring me joy on a daily basis. Together with clients, we identify underlying themes to presenting issues, which could be inadequacy or value, and pinpoint specific memories to target during EMDR reprocessing. I love being able to provide this therapy virtually, giving people the accessibility that in person therapy can sometimes lack.
I also utilize DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) in my individual sessions, depending on client preference, need and where we’re at in the therapeutic process.
